((Tha's alright! It was all I was really looking for))
Face burning with humiliation now, Sugar Counted the coins as they left her hooves, and moved to their new owner.
twenty... twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-four...
She almost panicked, thinking she didn't have enough bits, but as it turns out, she had only just enough to pay. With a now mumbled 'thank you' and 'goodbye', she scurried out of the bar, hoping nopony else noticed her complete mess up of paying for her fue- alcohol! Not fuel yet.
Well, save for the white mare she'd seen as she'd left. No doubt the one who had been looking at her earlier.

Aby obviously never expected such an explosive entry at such a time of the night.
The orange-coated mare made such an entry, Aby was completely invisible for a few minutes.
"Oh well..." Seeing things were under control, she assisted the scene, amused as she laid her head on her hoof.
She didn't mind, so she just observes and records the scene as if she was in a theater. This new face was quite intriguing for the northern mare, too overexcited though. She wondered what kind of project she mentionned about. Her eyes never left the short yet awkward conversation they just had until the explosives left the building.

Low Key takes a deep breath and sighs audibly as he the drama is finally over. He is about to reach for bar towel when a patron asks for a beer refill. He takes his glass in his magic and places it below the spigot. As he activates it, a small amount of it dribbles out before completely drying out at a quarter of a glass.
Shit. Not now. Oh please, Luna, not now.
He slaps the spigot a few times, drawing the eyes of some less inebriated patrons. His eyes wide with panic, he shakily places the quarter-full glass of beer back with the patron. A nervous smile on his face he stammers, "I-I'm sorry, s-sir, but w-we appear to be a-all out of beer. C-can I get y-you something else to drink?"
The music still plays, but it feels like everypony is staring at him. His eyes dart to the bouncers, but they're busy breaking up another fight.
So this was it, then. This was how he was going to die. He always imagined it would be a little bit more dignified than simply getting torn to shreds by a pack of angry drunks.

Abygail realized the sticky situation the bartender was in. She spinned on her seat and took a look at the drunken crowd.
"Okay, it seems like we're going to have to improvise just a bit."
The white mare jumped on the bar's counter, wobbling left and right.
"Whoaa... Yeah I'm still drunk."
As she stabilized, Aby called for every drunkard in the Saloon.
"Listen you bunch o' bastards! Tonight was such a success that there's no beer left and we have to do something about it aye?"
She waited a few seconds.
"This Stallion here!" Pointing toward Low Key.
"Because you guys are such intense alcoholics, the bar is giving free Rhum and vodka for every pony here tonight, so move your asses here and drink until ya'll fall dead!"
She got down the counter.
"Don't worry, they're already full of alcohol, we're going to knock'em all out in an hour."

Low Key simply looked at her in shock. Giving away rum and vodka? The owner would figuratively kill him if he found out about that. Still, it was either that or getting literally killed in an incredibly violent manner.
Even before the tidal wave of ponies appeared at the counter, he had brought all the vodka and rum bottles out of hiding and started pouring. Conversations consisted of one or two words: "Rum!" "Vodka" "Gimme both!" After about two minutes, business had slowed down and everypony seemed happy with the new arrangement.
Low Key gave a sigh of relief and looked over towards Aby. He gives her grateful smile and says, "I think I owe you something. Thirsty?"

"Hahahah!" She laughed, surprised.
"I honestly never expected it going so well."
A bit surprised about being offered a drink, she hesitated refusing that offer, already driven off by her still brewing alcohol. She let out a simple sigh.
"Yeah, why not...?" Aby couldn't feel else but a bit guilty about it, but one last couldn't hurt right?
"I'd love some rhum if you don't mind." She smiled, warmly.

Since he already had it out, Low Key poured her a glass and levitated it over to the counter. Now that he could rest assured that his domain was stable, he picked up his rag and began wiping at a few beer stains in the counter. Soon, the band finished and there were cries for an encore. In spite of this, the crowd began to thin out. Most were able to stagger out while others had passed out earlier. Amongst them, the lucky ones had buddies who were able to carry them home; everyone else had until the end of the night to wake up or Low would have to call the hospital. With how many times he'd had to do that, they may as well hire an on site EMT.

She rested her head on her hooves, her nose right over the glass the bartender offered.
The smell was more than enough to give a slight buzz up to the mare's head. Her mane covering most of her face and her bright-blue magic gently lifted the liquid she then sipped.
Everything went from loud music and partying to calmness. It felt good, but she felt as heavy as a stone at the same time. Warmness descending her throat like poison, she stared at the bottles lined up against the wall.

The band had finally packed up the bar was clearing out. 30 minutes later, there were only about a half dozen patrons still drinking. Finally slowing down, Low Key began taking dirty glasses, dumping them out and washing them. A spray of water followed by a soap rinse was followed by a disinfectant before finally being placed back into use. He always made sure to do a thorough job with his cleaning since he was the one responsible for providing his many patrons with a safe drink.

The white mare was dozing off, heavy pupils and legs, she decided it was time to leave.
She lifted enough bits to tip the Bartender for the night and said:
"Thank you for your service and what is your name by the way?"

Low Key accepted the bits and put them away in the register.
He turns back towards the white mare and says, "It's Low Key, ma'am. And you?"

"Nice to meet you Low Key" She slightly bowed her head, her mane half-hiding her face.
"My name is..." She hesitated a bit.
"Abygail. The name's Abygail."
She turned toward the exit and pushed the door with her forehead, lighting a cigarette in the cold night.

A couple hours later, Last Call came and went. With all that had happened tonight, the closing duties were going to be a serious pain for all involved. Still, it was an experience as well as a great business venture. Far from being the best night ever, but it was still something that everypony could look back on. Unless they were hungover the next morning.
[The End]
