Unable to hold back, Low leans in and kisses Niara tenderly on the lips. When he pulls back he stares into her eyes for a few seconds. His tears have all but stopped and his shame is completely gone as he leans in again only to stop himself. He spares a glance over at Saline and his happiness fades.
Low looks back to Niara and whispers, "Excuse me, I need to go talk to him." He stands up slowly and shakily as he gently escapes from her embrace. As he walks up to Saline, he makes sure to keep eye contact. When he reaches him he simply stares for a few moments, unsure of what to say.
Finally he speaks, "I've already said all that I can say. I've apologized from the bottom of my heart and meant it. I know that a simple 'sorry' won't make you forgive what I did to you; forgiveness will have to come from your own heart. All I want from you is a promise; the same promise I asked you to make on that night."
Low reaches out and takes Saline's forehoof in his own, "Promise me that you'll move on and find yourself somepony. Don't let me affect you like I let Midnight affect me. You're sensitive, and I respect that, but you can't let a single pony, like me, change what you are.
"So, is that a promise you think you can keep? Don't do this for me; do it for yourself."

Zeila was starting to get a little frustrated but honestly she felt like he knew what he wanted to do was fueled by anger and wasn't right but it didn't seem like anything she said was getting through to Saline. Honestly she wasn't there when it happened she was still boozed out of her mind when they walked her home,"Look Saline I-", as she was trying to speak again Low key had moved up from behind her interrupting her statement to talk to Saline. She looked to him as he started to talk she slowly moved back to give them a moment heading back to where Niara was standing at.
She looks to Niara and then to the two stallions as they talked,"So do you forgive Low Key or are you still questioning what to do?" Her tone was heavy with concern for all three of them as she had only seen many situations like this end badly.

--- Niara watched as Low moved over to Saline, she didn't want to bother them so she stayed where she was. She noticed Zeila walking over to her so she stood up and gave a silent sigh as she looked at her. "I know what he did was wrong, but I can't risk losing what means the most to me. I don't feel like I have forgiven him completely, but I will support him on what will come and help him recover from this. He is an emotional stallion, he needs me" she said while looking over at Low and back at her, she didn't see her face. "What about you?"

Saline sighs, knowing that that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. "And who would I ever find? Nopony had shown any interest in me or any sort of my kind. You're giving me an impossible challenge, and I'm already burnt with a cowardly singe." He shakes his head, "No stallion nor mare that I know in this city has any interest, so…what you're saying is far from the best." He starts to walk away, his head low, and his heart only lower, knowing the hopelessness of his situation.

Low watches Saline go, but doesn't let him go quietly.
"You know, I thought the same thing, too. When I first came here from Manehattan, I was adamant in my views that I would die alone. I had never had a mare friend and I was a complete and utter virgin; the only mare I ever kissed was my mother. I was completely convinced that I was an obnoxious creep.
"No pony died alone who tried to seek out companionship. Love hurts, Saline. I learned that twice now, but the risk of failure is no excuse to stop seeking success. You WILL find somepony. If you can tell yourself that and believe it, you will find your true love.
"Never give up hope is really all that I'm saying. Again, it's your choice whether or not you wish to take this advice."

Zeila looks over at Niara with a raised brow,"Honestly I'm not sure what to think just as Saline put it this matter has really no impact on me as I barely know either of the two." She rubs her head a little,"But really the only reason I am still around is because I wanted to apologies to both Saline and Low Key as I did kind of scare Low key senseless and got into a shouting match with Saline." She let out a heavy sigh before turning he head to look at the two stallions talking,"And well as this develops I feel like apologizing to Low is easier then Saline at the moment."

Saline looks to Low, a feeling building in him. He wanted to say it, he needed to, but what would Niara think? He may as well say it, it's not like he has much of a reputation anymore... "I believed I met my true love, but he's already been taken, caged like a dove." He tears up softly, and whispers something that, for some reason, echoed into everypony's ears, "...I love you, Low Key, but you never felt the same for me."
He backs up, and walks off, to where? He didn't know.

Low said nothing more. As he watched Saline walk off, his mind fell into turmoil. What was he supposed to say? Could he have said something else? Was it even his fault?
That last question stuck to Low, and he began to explore it more in depth: What if he DID do everything in his power, but Saline simply wasn't willing to move on? Was Saline moping around in an attempt to get back at Low? Was this whole business about walking away just to make Low feel guilty and rend his heart to the point that life lost all joy to him?
He could feel a rage building up inside of him. How could Saline be so foalish?! Low admitted his fault and tried to fix it, but Saline pushed him away. It was a slap in the muzzle and Low was not about to let himself get spited.
Just as he was about to yell a response, he stopped himself. Now Low was the one acting foalish. If Saline truly was spiting him, then fighting fire with fire was not how he was going to win this. The best thing that he could do now was simply ignore him. He had already said everything and Saline was well aware of his feelings about the situation. It wasn't worth all the drama to try and force Saline to think rationally.
Sighing deeply, Low turned back towards Niara, whom was now talking with Zeila. He slowly approached the two, staying silent and waiting for their conversation to end.

Zeila looked back towards Saline and Low key after hearing one of them start to leave only to see Low Key standing in front of the two mares. She looks down at the ground before inhaling gathering her courage before she slowly walks up to him. "Ok..Low Key...I know today has not been one of the better days you have had but I wanted to apologies for the incidents that occurred that night at the bar." She looks down again her front hoof kicking at the ground a little not sure how Low Key would respond let alone act towards her.

Low gave her a small grin and said, "You were only defending yourself. It was scary, I agree, but the safety of my patrons is foremost in my mind. How did you do that, by the way?"

Zeila was a bit surprised by his understand but she could only assume because of the recent incidents he was more accepting and forgiving then she thought he would be. Her thoughts were interrupted by the question he was asking her now, she would chuckle a little,"That was just my illusion magic i'm better at making things appear away from my body then on my body."

Low Key nodded and gave her a warm smile, "Just remember, you're still welcome in my bar. Next time, though, take it a little bit easy on the alcohol, maybe practice at home until you can drink a full glass and still keep your head."
He then turns towards Niara and his smile fades, "Are you ready to go? I think it's safe to say the park was kind of a bust."

--- Niara just stands and watches as they talk, she was kind of happy that she wasn't there at the day they are talking about. It sounded like a big mess. She weren't one to get drunk, but enjoyed a drink or two when going out. She looked up at Low as he turned towards her, she gave a slight smile and nodded before walking up beside him so they would leave. A nice day out turned to a really weird one with too many emotions coming at once. She kissed his cheek gently before they started walking, she had a lot to think about now but knew that it wouldn't change much about their relationship. At least not now.

Zeila nods giving a small smile under her hood as she was relieved that he wasn't upset with her anymore and still welcomed her into his company. "Sure and thanks Low Key.", her voice was a bit chipper then previously. She turned to look towards Niara as Low Key seemed finished with their conversation,"I'll see you two around town I guess." She says before departing from the couple and continued her walk around the park.

Low smiled after Zeila, and then took account of what had just happened. Niara was now officially in the loop of his scandal, Zeila's fears were assuaged, and Saline was never going to get over this. It made him think think about his own problems with Midnight and how he kept on talking about her as if she loved him and left him. She was still around town and getting an audience with her would be foal's play. Exactly how he would do that, though, would be planned out later.
In the mean time, he look over to Niara and returned a peck on the cheek, "Glad that's over. Anyway, I have work in a few hours. Let's go home and have lunch; I'm making it."
As the walked back out of the park, Low could not help but wonder what was on the menu. Not much, unfortunately. He did have some vegetables and flowers in the fridge, not to mention a few bread rolls. It was disappointing, really; after what he had just pulled with Niara, she deserved a nice dinner out somewhere...
Low Key held on to that thought. Slowly but surely, he drew up plans for what would surely be the best date ever!
As the two of them walked, Low looked over at Niara's shawl. Surely she liked it...but how would she look in a dress? And what about him in a tux? What kind of flowers does she like? So many ideas...
And so it began.
[The End]
