How he had ended up here, he had no clue -- but as the dusty-brown stallion planted his hooves on the front door and pushed it aside, he couldn't find any reason to turn back. If anything, he could reason with himself that it was for inspiration, for trying to discover some kind of new aesthetic that he had yet to come across. Padding quietly across the floor, he moved to peek his head out from behind a particular shelf -- sending a glance to the mare at the counter.
She looked familiar, for some reason. But as he studied the meticulously organized shelves and novelties along the walls, he rationalized that it made a good bit of sense, figuring that he must've seen her around town at some point in time. Still, he'd never bothered to get her name; but her personal life wasn't his business, anyway.
After another moment or two of browsing, Marver halted in his tracks. Upon a particular stand sat something awfully beautiful; a Fabergé-inspired trinket egg, shell glittering with a dainty, semi-luminescent texture. As he carefully approached its pedestal, careful to not make any particularly bold movements, he gingerly lifted a hoof to pop its latch; widening his eyes as a tiny cluster of silver snowflakes on a thick poker of wire sprang into view. The surface of the egg had been decorated in swoopy, floral patterns of metal and sterling, eventually settling down into four circular prongs that held the entire contraption upright.
It was gorgeous. Despite the price tag (expensive, but not devastatingly so; surpsing, for something of this quality -- it must not've been genuine, he figured), the stallion moved to gently cup the egg in the crook of his foreleg, letting the thumb of his wing hover underneath it as he approached the register.
"Good morning," he greeted, putting his foreleg to his mouth to stifle a yawn after he set the precious item down and onto the counter top. He wasn't sure how eager the mare was for conversation, but figured that a small greeting was better than saying nothing at all.
As he surveyed her and the space surrounding her, he blinked. A small set of snow globes rested on the edge of the counter, and in truth, he thought them to be much more beautiful than the egg that he'd found -- not that he'd abandon it, but still, he was curious. For them to be by the shopkeep, they had to be special.
"Those globes. Are they for sale?"

It took her a bit to notice that the door had opened. After feeling a wave of heat pour in, glancing up slightly through a mess of mane to see a dusty brown stallion come in and shuffle into the store. Watching him briefly as he took a short glance at her from behind a shelf as she merely blinked at him for a moment before giving him a small welcomed nod and quietly returning to her book. Moving another page, keeing her eye slightly on the stallion as he examined the trinkets. Pivotes head rocking her chair as he poked it outwards from behind the counter examning the new friend in the store. His tail making a loud thumping noise as it hit the ground while Cherry went to shush him. Only to freeze up when the stallion came up to the counter with one of the glass eggs she had recieved from a customer. She wasn't sure fully what it was, though placed it priced by what the customer sold it to her for.
Glancing down at the egg as she leaned under the counter, pushing aside the fluff to grab a small box and put some padding in it to tuck the egg into carefully. " Good morning, seems you found something you li- Pivot stop it. " Hushing the big lug of a dog as the dog placed its head fully on the counter almost tipping over the egg as Cherry caught it quickly and the dog made no mind to care. Moving the egg into the box as she looked over at her snowglobe collection. Closing the box as she shuffled shyly a little moving her seat. " Oh no..ah no...they are my personal collection. Though I do have some similar on the shelf over there. " Pointing towards a corner of the store where the shelves were themed with nothing but winter trinkets. Her personal favorites that she had set the most of in her store in hopes others would enjoy it like she did." I um...got these as gifts though. I do know where you can find them though if...you do want your own? " Finding herself more talkative than usual as she focused on the snowglobes. Pulling forward one that had a ice castle inside -- her personal favorite out of all the rest. And the one she had given special to sugar wish.

At her greeting, he smiled -- and at Pivot's curiosity, he felt a quiet chuckle rise from the back of his throat. It'd been a long while since he'd seen a dog, let alone one so large and well-mannered. Moving to sit on his haunches as Cherry gingerly wrapped the package, he gave the mastiff a playful little croon, stopping his oogling only when he heard her speak.
"That's fine, definitely. 'S a nice lineup," he said, wings shifting to relax comfortably at his side. Her offer, however, was an interesting one -- while the globes in the shop were lovely, and he'd most likely come back for one of them in the future, getting an original piece was awfully tempting. As she pushed a particularly stunning globe towards him, he made a point to study her face. She seemed forlorn -- nostalgic, maybe? Though he wasn't entirely sure just what they meant to her, he had a feeling that they were awfully special, and that the topic might have been a tad bit touchy to approach.
"I'd love to know, if you wouldn't mind. They're pretty nice," he mused, observing the fragile glass dome without actually touching it. The castle inside glittered with a special kind of cheeriness, like the entire object had been forged from love and good will. For a pony who normally wasn't fond of winter or snow-themed decor, he had to admit that the globe itself seemed to reflect the best of the season; cozy, chilly and good-natured. Whoever made the piece obviously had some experience, and the thought of being able to obtain one himself was more pleasing than he thought it would be.

The stalion seemed peaceful enough, taking notice of the odd wings on his back as the stallion was distracted by Pivot. The large mastiff lapping up the attention given to him as he barked loudly to the crooning in reply. Cherry use to the large barks as she simply stuck to her task of wrapping. Being sure it was secure and padded well before shutting the lid ontop of it. " I hope you'll treat this well, It...is a really pretty item. One of the prettiest here I'd say. " Murmuring quietly to make one wonder if more to herself than him. Looking again at her snowglobes and nodded. " They are arn't they? I am very fond of snowglobes...its um..a hobby to collect them. " Feeling a bit silly as she talked about it, but it was one of the few things she really liked openly. Glad that he seemed to admire the ice castle snowglobe as much as she did though probably for non nostalgic reasons such as her own. Glancing back down to the snowglobe as she picked it up lightly to give it a small shake. Admiring as the small flakes floated and fell inside. Her eyes focused on the snowglobes now, completely lost in thought as it took her a little to snap out of it.
"Hm? O-Oh right. " Pushing her thoughts aside as she crossed her hooves delicately across eachother as they rested on the counter. " Well for this one, it was custom made. I...ordered it from a glass worker who resides outside of Canterlot, my father got one before for me f-from him and I've gotten his works since. This one was for a special occassion, but I-I'm sure if you ordered it he would be glad to make one for you. " Pausing as she thought of where she placed his address as she hopped down her seat. Walking past the large dog around the counter as she realized just how much smaller she was than him. " I can get you the address, I will be right back. " Her tone hushed as she walked up the old stairs to the upper floors. The sounds of a few thuds and trinkets being moved heard and a few curses for almost knocking someting over. Pivot now free from his owners gaze welcoming himself around the counter to welcome the stallion fully with a whine of delight.
