It was a peaceful sunrise in the little town. Maybe a little too peaceful... "About 8 percent too much." Said a white mare, casually walking down the Main Street while staring at the pastel sky. Avoiding eye contact with any other inhabitants, she kept her head far up, maybe looking a bit excentric as she murmured sentences with a low tone. *Bump!* -"Ow...!" The mare stopped and looked down. A little colt, she just bumped into, was laying on the ground. "Oh. Sorry I was not really paying attention to where I was going. Well, it's kind of your fault too since you didn't bother moving away, but you know what?" She didn't give the poor little colt any time to answer that she asked right away: "I'm going to let that one slip.... Do you happen to know where your people sell or manufacture coffee here?"
The colt pointed toward a cozy-looking house written 'Café au Lait' on it. "Ah! Many thanks little dude."
She proceeds trotting toward the café, stopped and turned around.
"It was a joke by the way."
the colt gave her a questionning stare.
"You know... About the bumping and stuff...?"
-"..."
"Actually, nevermind."
The awkward moment took end and the mare resumed toward the building and pushed the door opened. The first thing she saw was an odd-looking pony apologizing to a table.
"Ehm, sorry missy..." She took a closer step, analysing the candy-colored mare as she tried to develop on her idea. By the way she looks, she decided that it might not be a good idea to understand her thoughts.
"Are you ready to order something or are you going to be conversing with that table for a while? The other end of the shop looks perfectly fine for this kind of use...!" She smiled in an awkard way.
"That's it, I obviously failed this first impression." She thought to herself.
Mute pony, object-talking pony....I wonder what town I just bounced in.
Clearly not receiving any answer or wanted attention from the object-speaking pony, Abygail patiently waited for her turn...
"So long for that one."

"Next!" Aby heard as she was turning around, the white-colored mare's curious eyes were lost in the décor of the shop.
As she laid eyes on the comforting-colored pony, who actually happened to be one-of-a-kind sight, Aby took a little time to answer...
"Uh, yes!" She looked around again.
"That's me..."
Abygail walked toward, from what she conceived, to be the owner of the shop.
Her eyes fixed on the shop's owner.
"I'd like a big coffee with a bit of sugar and cream." She cursed herself.
"...Please."
Aby shook her head.
"Sorry, I'm really tired. I'm not usually a morning trotter... I haven't had any sleep and this coffee is going to set my mind straight."
"At least I'm not talking to objects." She thought.

"I'll be very fine with this, thank you very much miss." She grabbed hold of the cup by levitating it with her bright blue magic and placed enough bits on the counter for the coffee and for a bit of tip.
She didn't had enough bits to eat this morning, saving for later.
She was feeling generous today, especially when someone as nice as the mare behind the counter you can't possibly be rude right? Aby took a last glare at the mare's eyes. Feeling jealousy toward her appearance as she sighed in her mind.
She then proceeded choosing the fartest table, as close from a window as possible and sat comfortably, laying her two front hooves on the round table. She looked by the window at the village slowly waking up.
"I could get used to this." She said, sipping her coffee.
Her eyes grew wider.
"Damn that coffee's good..."

Aby blushed a bit, seeing she heard her comment. But it was nice that it made her smile.
She quickly sipped her coffee that made this morning a good morning. Or was it something else?
Her last good coffee goes back for about a month.
Glad she could still engage conversation, somehow. Aby gave a few looks toward the counter.
"Eh... I'm not really from here as you probably noticed, but I'm going to have to stay in town for a little while. Would you mind telling me your name since I might be back here next morning?"

Pumpkin had gone back to her work, letting the customer enjoy her coffee in peace. There was work to do, after all, and she had begun sorting out an restocking the rest of the items she'd need for the rest of the day. This was her favorite time of the day; though she enjoyed the busy periods and certainly appreciated the much needed funds they brought in, she truly adored the quiet solitude of her cafe before the morning rush had arrived. She set another pot of coffee on idly.
The unicorn's words snapped her out of her work. To be truthful, Pumpkin had half forgotten she was there. Though she had certainly noticed that the unicorn was not a native of her town, she would never admit it. She smiled warmly in the direction of the table, "My name is Pumpkin Spice, feel free to stop in whenever. Well, whenever until three o'clock. After that there'll be no one here to take your order," she chuckled a bit at her own joke,

Aby chuckled a bit at the owner's sense of humour. Good thing she's got one.
"Pumpkin Spice..." She said in a low tone.
"It's a nice name I think. Up in the north, we name ponies differently."
She thought it was a little weird naming ponies by objects though. She took another sip of her delicious beverage, she haven't noticed the cup was almost empty.
"My name's Abygail, but I prefer Aby." As she finished her cup.
"It was really nice to meet you Pumpkin, too bad your store closes this early. It's rare a pony like me wakes up at this hour." She giggled.
"I see you're pretty busy, so i'll stop distracting you." She smiled as she stood up and lifted her cup to the counter, taking her steps toward the exit.

Having gone back to her chores, Pumpkin's eyes flicked back up at the mention of her name. The mare was staring into the coffee cup. Pumpkin wondered a bit why the strange unicorn mare had chosen such a far away table if she'd had any interest in conversing with her, but the shop was quiet enough. Pumpkin was pleased that she'd been correct about the ponies origins, though Abygail was certainly not a pony name that she had ever heard before. "Well it's nice to meet you as well," she smiled and decided it was better not to ask how someone could possibly sleep until three in the afternoon. As someone who was usually up before the sun, she never could understand how some slept the day away. The mare moved toward the exit, "Well it was certainly nice talking to you, Miss Abygail, hopefully I'll see you again soon."
(We can end the thread here if you'd like.)

"Yes, certainly!" The door rang the bell as the mare left the various smells of sweets.
She left, wearing a glimpse of a smile on her face, trotting a tiny bit downtown. Not many ponies were up, but she senses that it wouldn't take long before the crowd starts invading the streets. The sun was reflecting in her eyes as she stopped in the middle of town.
"Yeah..."
She slid a white cigarette from the back of her mane with her own magic, inserting it between her lips. She gave a few quick looks on the side and behind. The mare concentrated on the tip of the white and yellow piece of paper and a spark carn out of her horn.
*Tchik!*
Like a smoke trail following a train, she left to her next station.
