| Mention of swimming in the desert helped ease the tension for him a bit, as Sands' previous smile started to return. "No no," he chuckled. "We call it the Sand Sea, because that is what it is." So much clearer now. "It is long and wide, endless and rolling, full of life--just like the ocean, and yet its water is bright sand. Thus it is a sand sea." Warming up to his subject, he pressed on with her other questions. "I travel where my heart takes me. Business is everywhere, or so I suspect! The farther from home I go, the more treasured are my goods. But, I do look forward to the day I have no more treasures to sell," he added with a slight nod. He took a moment smoke his pipe idly, sending out a few rings simply because he could.

What was so funny? Hearing him chuckle at her comment as it seemed to ease the two at least. Looking confused again in a small tiny huff as he said it was called because it was. So it was a sea then? Didn't they go swimming in the sea over there? Only to realize what he ment when he explained it was just a desert of sand as she gave a small knowing "oooh". " I see, what do you plan to do when you run out of treasures? Go home? " Finding herself leaning a little on the counter to the conversation. It had been a bit few days since she had a peaceful one such as this. And she had already learned something! Take that old fillyschool teachers! Watching a ring of smoke float up as she nodded. " Its true about buisness though...I tend to ship orders a few time if I have something a collector wants...but its not to often..."

| Shifting Sands spread his hooves as he gestured. "All of my treasures come from my home. Once they are gone, I must return to get more, and to give my earnings to my people." That smiled remained, a simple expression of true contentment. "The world I have seen is vast and beautiful, treacherous and frightening, and I have a thirst to see it. And yet, I always find my way back. It feels like there is always some discovery back there that I must find, and when I find it, I realize it has been familiar the whole time." Fearing he was waxing too philosophical, Sands smoothly stroked his beard and turned the focus back around. "You're a merchant as well? What wares do you keep?" he asked, with a tone that suggested he may want to barter.

" I see thats very noble of you. " Wondering for a moment if everyone in his ponykind did that. It seemed very warming to the idea of having a giant family like group. Though she gave her first smile at the idea of his travels and how she actually envied him a little for being daring enough to do so. She couldn't for the life of her leave this little cozy town even if they had felt guilt ridden each time they saw her for failing to figure such a crime. " I envy you, it must be nice to see new places. I could think a few I myself would visit if I wasn't so rooted here...." Going off into thought again as she closed her eyes to think about the places she would go if she could. To find a place with a giant frozen lake all year round just sounded the best to her. Slowly opening her eyes again when he asked about her own shop.
" I run a knick knack shop...up the hill near the forest. I sell things more for just casual decoration and collectors...I being one myself..."

| Sands looked puzzled at her comment. "Rooted? I, too, would claim to be rooted to the Sea and my people, but that has never been a hindrance. Roots keep one in place, to remember what is truly important; yet are they not what feeds a young plant, helps it to grow? To be rooted doesn't mean one is trapped." He made and expansive gesture with one hoof. "A plant left in one small pot with eventually grow too large, and if it does not find escape, will wither and die. It is important to grow, expand! Explore the world around you, and the people all around! In that way, you will have roots in many places, and a freedom to move between," said the nomad.
| His grandiose vision left to hang in the air, Sands quietly settled back down. "I shall have to visit sometime. Perhaps you have something that my people would enjoy; my mother has always been fond of the gifts I bring from places far away."

(( Shifting Sands's little cart is set up against the side of a building, in the marketplace of town. By my assumption, the road is extra wide since it's still in town and made for many merchants to set up in. While he's in the cart, I believe Cherry would be standing right in front of its main counter. Vague marketplace exampleShifting Sands' Transforming Transportation ))

(Okay, thanks!) Leaving her aunt to watch the shop, Dixie strapped on her floral saddle bag and headed down to the marketplace to see if anything caught her eye. It wasn't extremely crowded but much like it used to be, even thou she hardly ever went to the market in the first place. Her aunt used to do the shopping for tools and what they need, but she wanted to catch some fresh air and had called the work day off to relax a bit. The last days had been very hasty and busy for her since her aunt had gone on a small trip out and Dixie was left alone with a lot of work.
"Thank you" She put the her new flowers in the bag with a smile and looked around, wondering if there was anything else she would need. She had covered most of it, but then she noticed something she hadn't seen before. A strange cart looking like it was from outside of town caught her attention and she started to walk towards it. It smelled of special spices and she spotted some beautiful fabric in fine cloth which her eyes was locked at. It was crimson red with floral decoration in a darker shade of the color and it was quite thick. 'Can I afford that?' she thought to herself, without looking for who owned the cart she reached her hoof up and felt the fabric gently. It was surprisingly soft and left her with a slight smile as she stood there.

She couldn't help but be amused by his rooted explanation. How deep he got into it and expressive with it. " I get it, I get it...I mean more...that I have reasons I can't leave this place. Thats all...I mean um...my shop and all...." Tryin to excuse herself to something trivial as she rubbed her cheek a little with her hoof. Though he made such a grand speech she wondered just how well he'd do in advice giving.
Returning a nod as he offered to visit sometime. " I do have plenty most mares tend to enjoy...I don't really settle with one type of Knick Knack, Im fond of collecting all sorts really....my specialty is winter though..." Ah the winter, the snow gleams and the holiday spirit. Her thoughts drifting to a wintery wonderland as she didn't notice the other mare come up to the stall till moments later. Snapping back to reality and her whimsical expression to one of more seriousness. Noticing the other mare seemed interested in another cloth as Cherry gave a faint nod in her direction. " It seems you have more buisness...I should probably head off..." Gathering her things to not keep Shifting anylonger from his own tasks.

| Shifting Sands arose. "I shall certainly come take a look then--and of course, if you find yourself looking for other such items, I shall be right here. Good day to you!"
| Another happy customer taken care of, Sands acknowledged Dixie with a pleasant nod, allowing her to browse in peace for awhile. The stallion took his time fussing around his humble cart, straightening this and dusting that, unhooking his tail from a splinter...
"Just let me know if you'd like to take a closer look at something," he greeted. "The veils are demonstration pieces; included in the set is a matching hijab of the same fabric."

Dixie was rather surprised as he suddenly talked to her and she turned towards him in a quick move, looking at him and then smiling. She nodded and looked at the fabric again. "How much is it for this?" she asked, she dragged her eyes off the nice fabric and back at him again with a calm smile. She had seen him around before but didn't know where he came from or who he actually was. Judging on the cart, it looked like he lived in it and travelled around a lot. She wanted to ask him, but she saved it for later as she was more interested in getting some of the nice fabric with her. She hoped it wouldn't be too expensive, she had already used a bit of bits on other supplies and she used to forget to save something to get for herself at times.

"It is seventy bits for the set," he replied, setting his pipe down to rest in its appointed groove in the counter. He was already reaching into the back cabinet and pulling out the folded hijab before she could respond, laying it out carefully and flat on the counter. Tiny dark beads were sewn as a fringe along the edge, making the tiniest scratching sound as they crossed the glass top counter.
"For an additional five bits," he added, "I have a soothing hoof balm available as well." Another clay container, similar to the one Cherry Flip had acquired, appeared on the counter next to the dark cloth. "It is famed among the mares of my herd for its relief of dry hooves, and how it helps to seal small imperfections before they become a painful problem."

Dixie turned around and looked at the hijab. It wasn't really her style even thou it looked very nice, but she didn't think she could pull it off and make it look good on her so she moved her attention to the hoof balm. She herself worked a lot with her hooves and had some imperfections that she hid, so the offer sounded tempting. "How much will it be for one meter of the fabric and the balm?" she asked, she wouldn't by the set since she didn't need it and but the balm caught her attention and she hadn't really bought anything special for herself for a long time. It looked like a normal, or more unusual balm, like she had seen before but she had never bought them because they where so pricey.

"A single meter? Let's see...."
| Sands turned and unlocked the wire-front cabinet that served as the cart's back wall, revealing a rainbow of fabric bolts. He hoofed through them till he got to the reds, when he gently pushed the bottom to get the bolt to stick out at the top. Carefully he grabbed it with his teeth, repeating the motion again for a second bolt.
"I have this bolt, which has the pattern readily applied, for fifty bits a meter." His hoof tapped the other bolt, self-explanatory but he continued anyway. "And this, set with color but no additional pattern, for forty bits per meter. The balm itself is five additional bits with any purchase, or ten alone."

Dixie watched as he got the bolt out and was amazed, she then looked at the fabrics for a while. She wanted the one with patterns but didn't know if she would have enough for the balm. 'I don't really need it.. do I?' she asked herself and let out a small sigh with a faint smile as she looked up at him. "I'll have one and a half of the pattern fabric, I might come back to get that balm thou" she said and looked at it again. She started to fiddle with her saddlebag to find the bits she needed to pay him, she wasn't really organized with it and always used quite some time to get it out.
