Thank goodness the sun was up, it wasn't as creepy as the last time she came here with it being dark. The sky cluttered with clouds that began to fill in. She didn't pay mind to it though, simply taking a quiet walk through the forest to clear her head. Sometimes she just wanted to stay as far away from town as she could, and a little breather from Pivot who had more energy than she thought he would buying him as a pup. He was much older now how did he still have it. Givin her head a small shake amused by her thoughts. Fluttering over a fallen tree as she stared back at it for a moments glance before continuing her pace.
She could remember the weather ponies giving heads up about rain, though was told it wouldn't be much later. Thus she wanted to get her walk out now before sealing herself up in her home for the evening. It was good she lived near the forest or she wouldn't make it before the storm.
(its a horrible starter fff)

"Dududuuu..." Claire sung a tune to herself as she reached the outskirts of the city. The houses had ended back behind her, and all that was in her patch now was the forest and that knick knack shop that, according to the populace, was owned by Cherry...whatever it was. Claire still wasn't clear on the name. Claire usually hated forests, what with their dirt and mud and disgusting animals. But, she had heard from a shopkeeper in the market that this forest had some very rare, beautiful flowers that grew in it. And Claire, always one for beauty and rarity, decided to take the rest of the afternoon to search them out. Of course, she was intending on ripping them out of their homes and using them in her latest fashion ideas. But she wouldn't let anypony know that, lest some of the 'nature freaks' wrung her neck for it. Hippies.
Taking a quiet sigh, she trotted her way into the thick forest. A lovely little patch was trampled through, allowing for Claire's freshly manicured hooves to not get too horribly dirty if she lifted them high enough when she walked. Continuing on her journey, Claire was rather quick to figure out that these flowers were going to be difficult to find.
She was also completely lost. She had no idea which way she had come from. And worse yet...
Plunk!
A drop of rainwater landed squarely on Claire's nose. "Ugh!" She exclaimed, looking up in the sky. "Excuse you? Weather ponies? What do you think you're doing?" They obviously couldn't hear her worth a bit and didn't really care to-Rain was on the schedule. Now, Claire was lost, it was about to rain, and...She had no beautifully rare flowers to show for it. Life could be better.

Cherry knew where the flowers were, but she infact was one of those who didn't like the idea of picking them for their rarity and more just admired them. Walking down the path back now towards the entrance as the weather ponys began to shuffle in the sky, Indicating that it would start the storm soon. She didn't want to be caught in it long as she felt a single drop begin from the first weatherponys kick.
" A little early...but its okay..." Murmuring to herself as she began to move a little quicker, turning a corner in the path as she took notice of someone yelling in the distance. The rain beginning to fall as she stopped to think. The voice was a bit familiar she couldnt place it though...at least at first. Hoping it wasn't some young filly or colt lost in the woods again after playing as she took a turn into the grass. Not minding that her hooves were dirty as she looked around for any sign of a child. Only to find one of the biggest ones as Claire seemed to huff up at the sky and weather ponys. A sudden downpour hitting the both of them as cherry blew a piece of hair outta her face from it and debated to just head back to the path. But she could tell at least that look on Claires face behind the now sudden anger from being poured on that she was utterly lost. Should she help? Debating that strongly as she stood nearby thinking a moment.

Claire sniffed. "This is great." The rain flattened her huge puffy mane and made it stick to her body. She huffed and plopped her rump down right where she stood. She looked up into the cloudy sky, realizing that this rain wasn't letting up and in fact, was going to only get worse from here. The sky looked angry, and the gray cloud layer rolled and surged like ocean waves in the sky. Claire decided that she would go out in search of...Some kind of shelter when she felt eyes on her.
"Um..." She looked around, a tiny bit frightened from being alone and lost. "...Is somepony there?" Another sniffle.

Oh god the sniffling, the whine and sound of fright just had to sound more like a child. Something that tugged Cherrys motherly instinct like a fishing hook as she couldn't help stop her thoughts there. Giving a silent sigh as she came out from the grove of trees and bushes to stare at eye level for once to the sitting pony. She was silent for a minute as if afraid that she would get some off comment again. " Do you...need help? "
Though it was a clear sign she did as she looked back from where she came and motioned. " I know the paths well...and....I live nearby so if you want.." Off puttingly inviting her to follow along as she went back the way she came. Pushing through the bushes again as she stopped staring back at her expecting her to follow.

Claire blinked at the newly appeared Cherry. Even after her anonymous donation, Claire's tiny conscious was scolding her every time she saw Cherry. "I..." There were a million things Claire could say right now, some rather thankful and some not very nice at all. Claire decided to settle on, "...Yes...Thank you. Ch-" Ah, shit. "Ch...Ch...U-Um..." Claire racked her poor brain. Chestnut Drip? Sherry Clip? Merry Dip? "Ch...Cherry Flip." That was it, she was almost positive.
She stood up, her hair and tail having absorbed every hint of water that had come in contact with them. Using her magic to wring them out (producing almost two gallons of water), she was left with a shaggy-disheveled looking appearance with her bangs completely covering her eyes. She shook herself off like a wet dog and aptly followed close behind Cherry.

Cherry was really suprised when Claire said her name. She had been calling her Churro for the while. Wondering if it was only cause of the situation at hand and taking it up as just that. If it were not raining and she not in distress, she was sure more harsher words would've been said. Taking the thank you like a grain of salt and leading the tall pony out to the path towards the outer forest. " No problem..."
Wondering if she would regret this decision as she lead the pony out towards the hills after what felt like hours. Walking up the path to the warm looking cottage, its age apparent even more in the rain as Cherry took steps up under the shelter of her porch. Shaking her coat just a bit to wring out the excess water before reaching up barely outta reach to grab the key on top and unlock the door. " Come in, don't mind Pivot...and don't break anything. " Opening to the old looking knick knack shop as she passed the glittery trinkets. Moving behind the counter to stroll upstairs as loud thuds could be heard.

Claire carefully stepped inside the small shop, instantly getting distracted by the pretty sparkles of the small treasures. This was one of the last shops she had to visit in her ventures. She noticed a collection of very delicate looking snow globes had perched themselves up high, some looking ancient and some quite new. Hearing the strange thudding from upstairs, Claire looked more than a bit hesitant. Usually, in television shows and plays, entering a mysterious house on the edge of a forest and then hearing thuds from an unknown room usually resulted in murder, or worse...
Dis-fashion.
Claire could shriek at the horror.
She followed Cherry to the base of the stairs and stopped. "Egh..." Now that she was inside, her quiet, frightened voice was starting to return to her usual, loud, pompous one. "What in heavens name is that noise?" She asked. She flipped her waterlogged mane back, showering half the room in rainwater.

Cherry just easily stepped through the dark store, being sure to keep at least a eye on claire though in case she touched any of the knick knacks. She didn't think a single thought just how creepy her home could be in the dark. Course she was never one for horror films, a bit of a fraidy cat in that regard. Ghosts spooked her.
Looking down from the near top of the steps as Claire spoke up. That timid actual normal voice earlier being replaced with the usual tone. " It's my dog Pivot...don't worry he likes strangers. " Giving a unpleased look when she showered half of her store in water. Coming upstairs to go to the bathroom quickly before tossing a towel straight at Claire into her face. " Dry off, I don't want my shelfs waterlogged...I'll go get some cocoa on the kettle, unless you prefer tea or something.." Her voice dragged a little tiredly as she went back up the stairs a warm light turning on from the top as the thudding noises stop and a bit of cooing followed. " Pivot be good okay, don't knock her down the stairs. " Giving the dog a loving little ruffle pet before stripping her hat off and ribbon on her tail to dry. Her tail suprisingly longer than it appeared and trailed a little on the ground.

"Oof!" Claire was caught off guard at the sudden fluffy towel in her face. She hastily tied it around her head and stuffed as much mane as she could into the large up-do. "Dogs..." Dirty and loud and jumpy and smelly. Claire wrinkled her petite, cream striped nose and carried on up the stairs anyway.
"Tea would be better." Claire said, her boisterous high-pitched voice back at full mass. "I'm on a diet." As if anypony asked.
Claire was a bit surprised at the length of Cherry's tail. Back in Canterlot, the length of a pony's mane matched the length of their tail. If they had a short, cropped mane, then their tail was also short and cropped. This was honestly the first time Claire had seen such a variety between the two.
Claire had reached the top and was greeted by an excited dog that looked quite happy to see her. Well, at least it was cute, Claire thought. Though, she chose to have to reaction to the happy-looking canine than a small step in the other direction.

Well at least she was warming up from the rain...or something. Cherry sighed to the loud noise downstairs about a diet. A word she barely even cared for as she just made cocoa for herself and tea for Claire. Taking a little time to make it in the small open kitchen as she carefully set the kettle ontop of the oven. " Alright then...though I don't know how it matters. " Mostly muttering as she pulled out a small stool. Stepping up on it to dig up in the cabinet to pull out two mugs. " If you need the bathrooms just over there, if not just rmake yourself at home....if its possible."
Balancing to mugs carefully to set them on the counter as the kettle whistled, setting it aside quickly almost burning herself as she pulled it carefully to pour two cups. Setting them down on the small coffee table that sat between the small couch and armchair. Curling up into the armchair as Pivot pratically hounded claire for affection following her about and giving soft whines for a pat.
