"Thanks I am sure we can be done with everything and then you are free to go back to work. I'll even help." she said as she began to tilt her head at how Sugar moved her head down on the table "I am sorry though I guess I did sorta force this on you..but, you were so tired in your work area. You fell and tried to work before sleeping again so I stayed to watch over you."
"You were also hungry I heard your stomach growl as you slept and even so when you woke up. It sorta hurt to see a pony go without food or sleep so decided to help. Just you know have a very peculiar way of doing it."

"m'not hungry," She grumbled, to which her stomach very loudly disagreed with her. She didn't even bother after that to say she wasn't tired, because clearly she'd already ruined the chances of using any excuses about that. Having slept midway through a project and all.
A waitress brought brief respite as she dropped by with some menus, sparing a longer look at Midnight than at the irritable Sugar (A sympathetic look, I promise) before introducing herself and leaving again to look after the other early morning customers.

"Well you say you aren't your stomach says otherwise. Plus food helps you think better, and sleep makes sure you dont make mistakes in whatever you are doing." she began to look at the waitress who dropped off menus before leaving. She looked at Sugar and smiled "Come on we are gonna order some food and get some coffee."

Watching the waitress she smiled some at her before looking back at Sugar "Tell me something Sugar and please dont lie." she leaned into look into her eyes a bit "Cause I will know your soul is still open to me. Have you never been treated to a meal and just a nice day to hang out?" she looked into Sugar's eyes awaiting her answer
She had a feeling from the way her soul was to her she was still without friends..or even being treated nice and the way she is acting was because of a defense mechanism to not feel something only for it to be taken away from her. The filly soul also showed to her when she did the reading..she was alone in the dark

"I have no time for such folly," She countered miserably, "I have my work, and that's all I need. Can I go now?"
To her, she wasn't lying. Sugar couldn't say anything else because she'd convinced herself years ago that, as a genius, she didn't need friends. She didn't need anypony elses approval (Save for the committee's, but that came later) and that, no matter what she did, she'd always be an outcast.
Why bother trying, when nopony cared that you did? So, she threw herself into her work, developing tunnel vision very quickly. It made her as she was today, dedicated and obsessive, and not very good at keeping herself healthy.

"Your work is important I will never tell you that it isnt. However having someone as a friend and getting out once in a while will do you good." she began to look at the menu a bit "You say you have no time for that kind of folly yet." she began to figure out what she wanted as she spoke "I saw your soul, you may say it and believe it in your mind. What does your heart and soul tell you?"
She began to tap the menu in front of Sugar "You may leave however you need to eat so grab a meal to go if you must."

"Logic is the best way to look at things," Sugar said emotionlessly in reply, "Without logic, emotion takes place. Emotion is volatile, unpredictable, and often self destructive. Logic is less so, and it always make sense. That's what it tells me."
In all honesty, she didn't know. She knew she loved inventing, and that was something she felt in her heart, but she hadn't really listened to it since.
"And I'll eat whatever you have."

Looking at the menu she began to see a few items, hearing what she said she may said it without emotions yet, what did her soul say? Looking up from the menu she looked into her eyes "Emotions are a strong thing to have. You need them to know limits and break past them. You love your inventing yet, if you had a friend I am sure you would love them just as much."
Looking into her eyes still she smirked a it "Eat whatever I want? Oh..I could make a comment. See a friend is someone you can relax around and not have your walls up. Rely on that person in your time of need."

"Friends are just excuses for weak willed ponies," Sugar replied thoughtlessly, "Whom cannot help themselves. I need no such falsehoods in my life."
A conclusion she drew from observations, and not from first hand experience. Mostly because she was too forceful about trying to find somepony, and telling somepony 'you will be my friend so I can study the effects' isn't the best way to go about it.

"Hm so I am weak willed?" she said as her eyes looked at Sugar's "So what happens when an invention fails? You have no one to tell, no one to be there to help you pick up the pieces." she sighed a bit she was firm in trying to be the "Independent" pony she would need to break her protective shell "Someone to bounce ideas off of. Or just have a day to get away from work and relax."
Smiling at her she watched Sugar's eyes "I can see you are trying your best to convince me of not needing friends..yet it's yourself that you are trying to convince otherwise. You want somepony as a friend but, I think you are afraid of being hurt and be left alone." she began to look at the menu for a second before back at Sugar "What caused your pain that you shut yourself off from the world?"

Sugar heaved a great sigh and groaned in frustration. To say she was annoyed would be a monumental understatement
"Aren't you the one who can read my thoughts or something?" She asked bluntly, "I don't know when this became a psychology session either. I thought you said this was a friendly lunch?"
She shot a glare back at Midnight.
"And I thought you were a fortune teller, not a psychologist. If I wanted a shrink, I'd go to the hospital."

"Well no I dont read your mind." she began to chuckle "I go further I read your soul. That's why I am asking but, yes a friendly lunch." she began to look around a bit "Where in the world is this waitress?" she said before looking at Sugar "I am just, trying to help a pony whose soul is crying out for help. You say one thing your soul says otherwise. The path you are on is dark, cold and meets your circle's middle fast."
She sighed a bit "I dont..like to see a pony with so much potential to change the world to, meet their end cause they dont wanna see the new path given before them."

"Maybe she just doesn't like being told she's going to die," Sugar grumbled as the waitress returned, "Or something similar to that. Can we get this over with now? I'm really not in the mood to listen to somepony tell me how to live my life."
Interesting concept for the pony who didn't even want to pick her own food.

She looked down a bit before over at the waitress "Oh yes may we have two of." she began to point at what they were gonna get and handed the menus to the waitress as she went off "Oh and coffee dont forget that please."
She looked at Sugar and sighed a bit "It is hard you know. Having what I have I've lived with it for my entire life and even with a family that taught me of it. It is still hard sometimes to see what I do." she looked away
