Low Key's bubble burst as his demeanor seemed to deflate. He pushes himself off the counter and picks up another beer glass from earlier. As he begins to polish it, he says, "If you want to talk about anything, just give me a shout."

Awwww, Spirit felt bad, now. She probably should have went for a better story. But... which one would be good? Most of her stories were actually rather boring, save the ones that had nearly killed her. And that would probably have killed the mood even more.
Well, there was one that stuck out to her. One that left no physical scars, rather it left mental ones. That could be something to share, later. But, for now, she may as well finish up this cider.

Low Key finishes polishing the latest glass and puts it back under the counter. As he notices Spirit swallowing the last few drops of cider, he walks back over and says, "How are you feeling? Want another?"

Spirit have basically chugged the last half of the drink. And it brought tears to her eyes when she did. Clearly, this was going to be her best idea, yet, "Y-Yeah, I could go for another one. Feeling pretty good, actually."

Low levitates the mug up and under the counter, pouring her some more cider. As he places the mug before her, he pulls a pad of paper over to him and makes two small scribbles as he resumes polishing glasses.

Oh shit. She had to pay for these things, didn't she? Spirit took a small sip from the cup before speaking up and asking, "So, how much is each mug going to cost me? It's probably best that I know that before I make any bad decisions."

Low levitates the glass under the counter and brings up another, "Two bits per drink. Your current tab is four bits." He then concentrates on his work as he finds a rather set in stain that washing machine missed.

Spirit nodded and opened up her coin purse, laying down eight coins on the counter, "Well, if that's the case, think you could limit me to 4? I don't really want to blow everything I own on drinks." Oh, and also, there was the fact that the drunker ponies got, the less cognizant they became. If she hadn't verbally set a limit, she would have kept going and going, probably well past her own coin.

Low picks up the bits in his magic and deposits them in the register. He makes a special note on his pad as he brings up yet another glass to polish. A more astute pony would probably figure out that he was just polishing the same two glasses in an attempt to look busy. He looks over at Spirit and asks, "I'm not doubting your ability to defend yourself, but alcohol doesn't really help your hoof-eye coordination. If you need a bouncer to walk you home, just ask."

Spirit nodded, silently taking note of the glasses he was continually cleaning. Either he was a neat freak, or things weren't quite as busy tonight as one would expect it to be. Granted.... weekdays and bars weren't normally things that meshed well. Regardless, she took another sip of her drink, "Thank you for the offer, Mr. Key. I hope I won't have to take you up on that, though."

Low nods and returns to his obligatory glass polishing. He noted that she didn't seem the least bit inclined to talk about her work, but he was intent to start a conversation. Low always followed the philosophy of learning something new everyday, so he found something else to ask her, "Were those tarot cards in your purse? I know of another mare in town who has a special interest in those."

"Not Tarot Cards. Spell seals," she explained, drinking a good amount more of her cider before stating to rotate again, "Spell seals are just... basically pre-made magic spells. I just activate the card and boom! Stuff happens. It's pretty great. I'd love to give a few demonstrations, but I dont' think any are good for inside use, if you know what I mean."

Low nodded, giving her a warm smile, "For an adventurer like yourself, I can understand that you would need more than a few dangerous spells. Still, that brings up another question, why don't you just use your horn? While you could easily say that it is much simpler to just buy the cards, isn't hours of study and practice less expensive in the long run compared to buying instant spells?"

Spirit chuckled nervously at the question. Why did this /always/ come up at some point? Well... probably because of how strange of a thing it was that a unicorn would use spell cards, "Well... this thing is mostly just for show. And maybe goring timberwolves that step too close. I... well... I can't use magic the way most unicorns do. Hell, I wasn't supposed to use it at all!"
A smirk found its way to her face, "But, I cheated the system! I use Ley Lines. Which are the magical strands that go around the entire world! It's pretty fantastic, actually."

A unicorn that couldn't use magic? Low Key felt a pang of sympathy for this mare. Surely a birth defect like that must have devastated her parents. Still, he had other questions he had a good feeling that Spirit didn't want to talk about her horn. Chuckling nervously, he says, "Remember when I said earlier that I'm not in the loop when it comes to arcane magics? Could you go a little more in depth about these 'Ley Lines'? They sound incredibly fascinating."
