"There are things in this world that people believe is fate. A chance meeting...the sudden change in plans that avoids a traffic jam." she began to shake her head "Fate is not that, fate isn't that fate is a life decision that sets you on a course." she began to look at Sugar moving her hoof over "You saw your path it is your choice to take it or not. To see where this new path will take you or you stay on your current path."
She moved her hoof over to Sugar to touch her on the chest where her heart was "You are at a cross road in your circle this new path has been given for you to walk. To see where it takes you and where it takes you even I dont know, all I do is show you the paths you may have missed. The only thing I can tell you is if you stay on your current path your sadness will deepen and you will find another cross road at the end..one that will be a one way to your circle's middle. The other path I showed you will be a brighter path."
She smiled a bit as she looked at her "You choose your path, you walk it decide where you want to go in life. A path where you are happy or a path that may lead to your darkest of days."

Sugar huffed and frowned a little more. She was trying to be polite, she really was, but the supposed impossibility of the events she just witnessed was still rattling her, and she didn't like being rattled. She didn't like miscalculations either.
"They're just cards," She reiterated stubbornly, "You just... Messed with them or something."
Denial is an ugly thing, and Sugar was trying very hard to deny her reading. Sucks, when things don't go your way doesn't it?

Moving the cards back out once more she set them down on the counter "Ok, test them. However you want to just dont hurt them ok?" she began to sit down on her haunches as she waited "You will see the power they hold. The power I hold and the path you have been given to give you light."
As she sat there she began to move her head to the counter and rest her chin there "I will wait till you are ready to accept."

"I believe our business is concluded," Sugar said firmly, "I don't care to test your silly cards. Now, unless you wish to purchase something else or need something else repaired...?"
She looked at Midnight pointedly. Clearly, she wasn't willing to touch the cards right now.

"Then I shall leave them here for you to test. I will return tomorrow for them." she began to stand up lifting her gaze to meet Sugar's own gaze seeing into her eyes again "You will see for yourself the power in the cards."

"I will see that they're just cards," Sugar reiterated firmly, "And that you were tampering with them during the reading. I don't know how you did it, or evaded my sensors, but I will prove you were messing with it. And when you return, I will prove it to you."

She smiled as she stared into her eyes "I look forward to that." she began to tilt her head a bit "Please do be careful with them I had them since I was a filly. My father got them for me and they remind me of him so...please?" she began to walk out the door "I look forward to your proof in the morning." she said before walking out the door leaving her coin behind and cards

Sugar Sweet glared after the mare as she retreated from her shop, then looked at the tarot cards. She didn't like Tarot cards, and now she had a whole day to figure out exactly how she was cheating in her reading.
Without damaging the cards, which took out a few possible theories, but she'd make do. She'd prove her fakery, and then she'd be right, the fortune tell would be wrong, and all would be well again.
She experimented for almost six hours, closing her shop soon after (since she never got customers anyway) Midnight left to pursue her new project. Six hours, and nothing new happened. She even tried a purging rune she'd crafted some years earlier for this exact purpose (or, something similar. She couldn't remember why) and nothing happened, save for her drawing the same three cards again. She even locked those cards in a triple locked lockbox, and still it did nothing but give her those three cards.
it was madness. Utter madness. Six hours later, she gave up, and moved back to working on her water purifier.
She'd have to be angry at Mignight the next day.

It was morning now and Midnight made her way back to Sugar's place. As she got there she began to knock on the door to see if the shop was open yet or not "Elloooo...Sugar." she sat there at the front door knocking a few more times on the door "I came to see the proof you have."

The door was unlocked, and Sugar was in the basement. The hatch was wide open, but Midnight wouldn't get any answer from the inventor. No, in fact nopony really could. Not with any clarity. For you see, slumped over a series of three fifteen gallon water tanks she'd hooked up, Sugar Sweet slumbered, shadows under her eyes and a bruise or two on her hooves. Working with hammers and pipes and metal was punishing work, and tiring. Add that to her list of growing hunger pangs, and one could say she had very little, if any, energy. So sleeping made sense.
Except you know. She fell asleep over work.

Knocking again she touched the doorknob and tried it. It wasnt locked did it mean she was open and just busy? Go inside she began to walk around the shelves again "Ello sugar?" she continued on as she got to the counter and saw she wasnt there. "Where was that secret place." she began to walk around and eventually found the trap door heading down it "Ellooo..Sugar?" she yelled out as she went down the stairs

Sugar would have heard her. She really would. But the welding mask that took up a little over three quarters of her head didn't allow for very good hearing, so it was a little difficult. As a result, she remained firmly asleep. However, on the jewellers table on the opposite wall of the workshop, a pack of tarot cards quivered.

Getting down there she began to walk over to see Sugar with a welding mask on. It was adorable really just passed out over her work and wearing the mask. "Aww she is adorable." she looked over to see her deck and went over to them giving them a kiss "You didnt scare her too badly did you? She treated you well right?" getting them wrapped up she placed them inside the box and back into her saddlebag. Walking over to Sugar she tilted her head a bit
"Hmm." she began to remove the mask a bit "Get this off you and." she set it to the side as she used her hoof to poke Sugar on the nose "Booop."

The sleeping mare grumbled a little upon being booped, but she seemed to be in a deeper sleep than originally expected. She did shift a little though.

"Hmm a heavy sleeper well then." she began to poke her a few times on the nose before moving to the other side of Sugar. Leaning down she began to whisper into her ear "You are adorable when sleeping." she breathed into her ear after saying that to see if that would jolt her awake. She prepared for a good slug for it too
