Low blushes at Midnight's comment, giving her a small grin. It was good to know that other ponies thought that as well. Before he could respond with a thanks, though, she had already moved on and was talking to Spirit. Somewhat disappointed, he made his way back over to Niara just as Spirit announced the official beginning of their journey. Low was almost starting to feel like they'd never leave town.
As Saline brought up another question, Low rolled his eyes. He wanted this "adventure" to be over and done with, preferably with as little excitement as possible. Still, Saline brought up a good point. Midnight and Spirit would be able to hold their own, no doubts about that. Low had been in a few bar fights, but he only won because he had the element of surprise and the bouncers backed him up. As for Niara, he had no idea how she would do in a fight. She did have an impressive physique and most certainly knew how to take charge in the bedroom, but he wasn't going to assume this translated over into her being able to defend herself. In either case, Low was going to keep an eye on her. If the worst came to pass, he was going to protect her at all costs.
And then there was Saline. Low had first hand experience with his powerful musculature (Both in and out of the bedroom), and held few doubts that Saline knew how to handle himself in a scuffle. The thought of Low and Saline fighting side by side almost made him giggle. Perhaps this was how they would finally work out their problems? Perhaps it would be in their best interests if the worst came to pass. He bit his lip as he thought of him, Niara, and Saline "celebrating" the successful end of their grievances when he immediately shook the thought from his head. What the Hell was wrong with him? Was it at all possible for him to think of Niara or Saline without immediately conjuring up something lewd? Maybe Midnight was right, maybe he was a total pervert. However, if there was something he wasn't, it was incorrigible.
As he looked over in Saline direction, he noticed that the zebra had temporarily removed his cloak. It was strange to Low Key; even when he had...you know...he never saw Saline take his cloak off. Now that he could finally see what was under it, he noticed the writing. He thought about what it was, but decided to keep it filed away. He had a feeling that Saline would want to "chat" with him, and this would provide for interesting small talk.

--- Niaras face formed a smile as Spirit had started the adventure an they headed forwards, she felt her hooves tickling for something to happen. She hadn't really been on a proper adventure, which she would call it, since she was small. The traveling from city to city didn't count, but it did come in handy that her stamina was good enough for her to keep up for a while before taking a break. The heat from Saddle Arabia and the distances between cities had helped her train it, she was an expert on sand dunes and hot days so caves where something new. She noticed Low trotting over to her and gave him a smile, nuzzling his cheek. "Are you exited?" she asked, her own excitement could show on her face and smile. She felt like they where heading to find a treasure or something. It had been a while since they did something fun together, maybe this could strengthen their relationship. Another thing she wanted to do was to talk to Saline. She knew he was angry at Low and wanted to know if he was just as irritated at her, she hadn't done anything to hurt him except maybe getting together with Low but she didn't know what had happened before that. She had to at least know the reason why he was angry at her and hoped to get to explain herself.

Midnight watched everypony as they got ready and turned to head with them. She stayed towards the back a bit as her mind was filled with a few things. Key, Niara, and this Saline were all part of a domino effect she caused with Key. Niara seemed to be a nice mare her eyes showed her emotions pretty well she didnt need to ask to read that. Saline...Saline on the other hoof was full of sorrow and anger it seemed. His eyes tried to hide it...she could see through that with ease. Then Key she could read him like a book...being dragged into a situation he rather run from. Not just the adventure but, between Niara and Saline, she would need to monitor things and knock heads if ponies got rowdy during the expedition "So Spirit tell me about the cave we will be going to. This isnt like the ruins is it?"

"Roles? YOu're right, Saline! We need roles!" She claimed, boisterously, "Here's my idea: I'll be me! YOu can be you! And we can go through the cave without trying to be what we aren't!" After she said it, she realized how sassy and mean that really sounded, but she didn't take it back, still. It was just kind of how she was. And, also, there was the fact that she didn't expect to be doing too much fighting or anything that would need any sort of 'class system.'
But, that actually brought her to Midnight's question, "And, Middie, to inform you, we are all flying blind out here! I have not gone more than twenty meters into this cave system! There could be a dead end thirty meters in, or we could find some sort of cult meeting in the middle of miles and miles of tunnels! It's... exciting, is it not?!"

Saline scrunches his muzzle, and remains quiet, and stews over just how much derailment this was from 'two old friends' to 'a school field trip' in a few minutes. He trots behind a bit, in the very back of the group to isolate himself, to cool off, and to frankly get away from some unappreciative jerks. He could have just not come, and it seems better that way, town would be much less tension filled.
As his slowing down passes by the rest of the group, he focuses forward, though his muzzle scrunch worsens when near a specific mare, a specific, stallion stealing, foreign slut-he shakes his head. Now's not the time to fling insults. Well, he could in his mind, no pony could read his thoughts! …Right? He shakes at the thought of his final region of privacy being shattered and spilled to the crowd before him, and how much more tedious talk he'd have to slog through for that.

Low leaned in and gave Niara a quick nuzzle back. If there was one thing he found exciting about this adventure, it was that he was doing it with her. As with the event in the park a few days ago, she would again probably have to be his emotional crutch. This also brought up the guilt associated with him thinking that he was putting her through Hell, but he promised that he would be her protector on this trip. Midnight and Spirit could protect the group, but Niara was Low's responsibility, and it was going to be his job to bring her back alive and unharmed. His inner stallion danced a jig as it indulged in the fact that Low was finally manning-up.
As he stop nuzzling her, Low says, "I guess you could say that. I've been to worse places." He gave her a reassuring smile, hoping to hide his nervousness. If Niara was going to be his emotional crutch, at least he could try not to burden her with his fears.
That was when he heard Saline's and Spirit's discussion. While she did bring up a good point, Low couldn't help but cringe at her sass. Saline didn't deserve to be treated like an idiot, but he kept his mouth shut. He also remembered that Spirit had no idea what happened with Saline, unless Midnight told her. In either case, he hoped that the rest of the team wouldn't be trying to sideline Saline; it would certainly not improve his current temperament.

--- Niara smiled with joy, she was happy that he at least looked at this in a positive way. He didn't seem awfully exited about it, but she didn't expect him to either. He did mention once that he wasn't much of an adventurer, but that only made her want to go out for a trip to test it more. The idea Saline had was a good one and Niara wanted to say that she agreed, but before she could give her response, Spirit spat out a sassy comment that made her feel a bit bad. She sounded mean and it bothered Niara, she couldn't just let her say that without anyone reacting. She picked up her speed and walked in front of Low and looked at Spirit with a serious expression. "Saline was giving a good point, your comment was not necessary" she said, her voice was strong but she suddenly regretted saying it. She didn't want to have any trouble with the tour guide but when people used sarcasm and sassy comments in a action that would come of rude, it made her react. It had happened to herself too many times and she just couldn't stand it.

So the zebra said something about making classes and Spirit said a sassy comment at it she chuckled some. Staying a few steps back her eyes watched the others noticing Saline is now behind the group. Then Niara went up to Spirit to say something about the comment saying it wasnt nice "Sorry to interrupt but, let us not start anything. Spirit has a point this isnt a ponies and dragons tabletop game so we dont need classes. All we need is supplies really."

Spirit really was prepared to explain her point of view, more. But, she kept silent. Yeah, best not to get things heated before they even got to the cave. So, instead, she sighed and offered (a very half assed) apology, "I'm sorry, Saline. I didn't mean to step on any hooves, but the way that the world works is just that there are not set 'classes' when it comes to adventuring like all the games and things say. You're not a paladin, you're just.... you."
"I just don't want anypony getting any delusions of grandeur while in here, in case we run into any sort of actual ghouls, goblins, or other nasties. I don't want any of you doing any sort of fighting. If anything comes up, please leave it to Midnight and I. the last thing I want on my conscience is that I let any of you get hurt under my watch."
"Speaking of which," she said, changing the subject and gesturing to the cave mouth that had loomed up to them while they had been having their discussion, "Here we are! Now, if anypony wants to turn back, say so now, because once we're in, there is no turning around until we reach the end."

Saline'd feel no different from what he would feel if she just never apologized. He didn't mean to be the roles of some foal's game, he meant what they'd do in emergency or if they see something! He sighs, no more pleased. He is silent when they reach the maw of the cave, waiting for her to allow them in, and damn well hopes this venture will be worth his time.
He does take notice of Niara and Low nuzzling, and pushes it out of his mind. He just wants to go home at this point, but he feels the need to stick with his close friend, Spirit. Even though she did just sass the hell out of him and gave a half-plot apology. He adjusts his cloak, and his saddlebag, ready for the romp in the musty caves of whatever.

Low took his place by Niara. Sure, he and Saline weren't on the best of terms, but he wasn't about to leave his fillyfriend out to dry. As he was about to speak up, Spirit regressed and announced that they had arrived. As Low stared at the entrance, he could not help but affirm that it did, in fact, look a whole lot like a cave. What's more, it looked like the kind of cave that he had no interest in going near. However, he remembered that he had made a promise to himself. He only had one job during this entire trip, and that job was to protect Niara. So help him, Celestia, if he failed that.
In an attempt to hide his nervousness, he awkwardly wraps his foreleg around Niara, pulling her close into him. Giving everypony else a too-wide-to-be-genuine smile, he says, "Why in Equestria would I ever want to turn back? This is just getting exciting! Right, dear?" He looks over at Niara in an attempt to draw moral support from her. He has a feeling he's going to need it for this one.

--- Niara looked surprised as Low pulled her inn for a hug, she looked at him and heard that he spoke enthusiastically but his face didn't show much interest in it. But either way, she giggled and nodded with a smile. She knew the reason he was still tagging along was because she had begged him to join her or she would go alone, and he was that kind of stallion who had to protect his loved ones. "Maybe we should go to more adventures, since you're having so much fun" she said with a chuckle and kissed his cheek softly before looking ahead. It looked more or less like a regular cave that was darker inside and looked like it hid other tunnels that you would get lost in. She would make sure to stay close to Low so they wouldn't get separated, even thou she didn't have anything against adventuring alone. She just knew that Low wouldn't handle it as good as herself.

Midnight knew there were many emotions swirling around them. A good portion were from that zebra, the moment she saw the cave she went ahead and past Spirit a bit to peer into it. Her tail swished behind her a bit before looking back at Spirit then the cave "You didnt feel this?" she said before trotting away from the cave and over to Spirit leaning to her to whisper for her ears only "There was a hell mouth here." she began before looking at the cave again "I cant tell if it is still..but the cave is oozing with negative energy."
Looking at the group before back at Spirit "It should be fine but, this isn't something to toy with Spirit. So if we continue be prepared for anypony to feed off that ok?" she turned and looked at the group smiling a bit "No pony's afraid of bats, insects, snakes or anything right?"

A hellmouth. This just got a lot more fun. Not only were Hellmouths gates into another dimensional realm, but they were often also points of power that drew in creatures, and ghouls that were there to bask in it. Mainly in the same way that a lizard would sit on a rock to bathe in the sun. Many ghastly beasts did the same with the Demonic Energies. Which typically made the beast approximately.... 400% more difficult to handle. Even smaller and lesser nuisances like Timberwolves, when drenched in this stuff, could become a rather difficult enemy, with their healing properties shifted into overdrive and their bodies just... changing in general.
To Midnight, she mumbled, "All the more reason to get in there and shut it down. We can't have that so close to town, after all..." But, to the group she put on her best smile and claimed, "Still not too late to turn back! You... You did all sign the waiver, right?"

Saline nods, he did remember that part, at least. He noticed their whispers, which had gotten him curious. Were they hiding something from the whole party? He makes a note for that conversation later on, most likely when one of the members were dying from the surprises down in the 'fun cave.' He flatly says, "This waiver most likely won't cause anypony to quaver.
He walks towards the cave entrance, and stares into it, like staring into the maw of a dragon. He takes a hoof out, and steps into it slowly, testing if there wasn't an immediate magic trap that's meant to either be a forcewall, explosion, eviscerator, or other fun things. He can't seem to think straight, and simply does this out of pure boredom.
