"Sold to a museum," she corrected, ignoring the more important matters at hoof, "Except for anything in particular that you want. I promise I won't tell." As she spoke, she had been rifling through her bags, calm as could be. As if the statues which were now starting to come forth weren't even there. Upon the floor, soon, was a small stack of paper seals and a stick of charcoal.
With said charcoal, she began to draw various sigils on the ground, even standing and moving about the room to place them. And then, she split the paper seals in half, passing some over to Midnight, " I hope you can use spell cards. If not, it's easy. Channel Ley Energy into the card, and point it at those guys."
"And are you really asking the Witch if she could fight? That's like asking if water is wet, or if these things are gonna die again!"

"Right sold to museum." she chuckled before hearing Spirit moving around the room. Leaning herself up she looked at the mare moving around writing out sigils on the floor. She looked at the stuff in the coffin again before back at the golems starting to move a bit "Plan b. works for me I suppose." she stretched out a bit as she looked at the gems on the golems. Filled with energy just brimming with it...She began to use her magic to yank on a gem of a golem close to her. It took a bit of effort wiggling it around before she finally freed it from its home "Ooo pretty." she brought it close to her looking at it
Examining it as Spirit came up she smiled taking the papers in her hoof as she used her magic to hold the gem "So focus on ley energy and point, that works though I was wondering. What happens when you overcharge something?" she grinned pointing at the gem "We get a nice boom from this as well." hearing about the witch fighting she chuckled bowing her head "I didn't ask if you could fight...I asked how well you could fight." she giggled before waiting on Spirit "We gonna keep score?"

Spirit didn't respond. He seemed like a monk that had found their zen. Sitting on the ground, the cards spread out in front of her, she closed her eyes and opened her mind to the Magic around. It was everywhere. Coursing from each of the creatures' chests, tethered to each sigil on the ground, and in its latent strands spanning the world. It was within these strands that she reached to draw energy from. Slowly, the cards around her began to shift and move, starting to even float into the air. Soon enough, they were spread around her, hovering in a halo of paper. Then, they began to glow a bright white. From the beacons, bursts of power shot out, each seeking out a gem and shattering it, causing the golems to fall, lifeless once again.
As much fun as it would have new to wipe out the in tire platoon, though, Spell Cards only had finite uses before turning to ash, like the ones around her did. But, that didn't mean she was done destroying golems. Whenever one stepped on a sigil, some strange effect seemed to take place, be it a pillar of flame turning the stone creature into slag, or the floor turning into sand, forcing them to fall before solidifying again.
Standing up, she smiled and casted a Glance to Midnight, "Twenty-two. Your turn."

Examining the gem still she began to look at how Spirit was handling some of the golems, she chuckled a bit as she watched them fall rather quickly before hearing the number "Oh so this is a game of who gets the most?" she grinned as she cracked her neck a bit "Ok watch out then I'm not one to sit back." she began to send magic into the gem before her, as she did it began to glow brightly as it shook in the air "I do enjoy a big boom don't you? Though will say you sure know how to give a mare a good time on first date."
She used her magic to fling the gem into a group of golems as it hit the floor it went bright white before an explosion happened sending golem parts everywhere "Now time to put your papers to good use." she rushed into the golems as she used her magic slapping them on the gems of the golems. A golem stood in her way and swung down to smash her. Jumping back she saw debris go up before she went running up the arm slapping a paper to the head of the golem and another on it's gem "Damn these guys really dont like me I guess." she jumped off and ran to the other end of the room as the golems began to follow turning towards her "Keep Count." she said as she began to focus with the ley lines of the earth, sending a charge of energy out through her horn and chained it to all the papers she stuck on the golems making them explode

Spirit nodded and stood back, a small smile on her face, "Well, I need to have a good first date. How else am I gonna net a second with you?" she asked, giggling, despite their situation. Honestly, she no longer had any doubts that they would survive this. And honestly, as bad as it was, she was truly having fun with this, snuffing the artificial life out of Golems and things. And they were doing a service to the world, too! These souls had been trapped for Celestia knows how long, just begging to escape!
When Midnight inevitably came back, Spirit sighed, "Thirty-one. Grumbling, she dropped to the ground, creating a larger magic circle, which included smaller ones linked together inside of it, "Let's see how this works! Last time it blew up in my face!"
Leaving that statement as it was, she stepped back and the circle began to glow a deep, menacing purple. A black mist leaked from the signs, forming together in a smokey haze above it, though retaining some sort of shape. From somewhere within, a pulsing light could be seen. But, it was soon gone, as the creature rushed the golems. One after another, the smoke enveloped a golem, only to leave it, broken and in pieces, still practically thrumming with energy.
But, that wasn't the end of it. The rhythmic pulsing of the purple inside the creature began to become more frequent and erratic, and the thing zipped about the room having as many golems follow it as it could. When near completely surrounded, it 'hatched,' and a creature that looked to be a rip in spacetime itself came out, dragging many of the lizard warriors with it into the Void from whence it came.
Undisturbed by the hellish summon, Spirit chuckled, "My total is now 45. Beat it."

Leaning against the coffin again she began to watch Spirit. "Hmph too easy I thought golems would of been a bit harder then this..but, being of stone they move slow." she giggled as she watched Spirit begin to make a circle and tilted her head "I hope you dont blow yourself up this time." she watched the circle before the magic began to come up off it. Seeing it take off and the outcome of it she giggled a bit "That sure did a number on the golems..but, I guess it's time for me to take this a bit serious." she pushed off the coffin and walked towards the golems "I am gonna show you why my boss keeps me around." she began to glow a bit as her horn sparked. Picking up fallen pieces of golems she levitated them together to form a hammer.
"Easy magic like this is nothing...but, I am gonna show you why my magic rivals that of magicians of old." she began pouring her magic into the giant hammer as it started to glow. Slamming it down atop a small group of golems it sent a shockwave of magic across the floor. Raising it up again she got a few more of the little golems before she turned and with pouring all her magic into it she sent the hammer flying at the statue behind the coffin sending it and the hammer through the wall. "That...right...there shows why." she said as she walked towards Spirit she stumbled a bit before falling against her her eyes shutting passing out from over exerting her magic

Hmm. Spirit coulda sworn her Void beast woulda won it for her. Hell, he was hoping for at least a small mention of how it was cool or something! She was actually rather proud of the thing! A timebomb void elemental?! Who coulda thought to summon something like that other than a mad mare with no regard for innocent life?
But, before she could voice her displeasure, there was a massive hammer, which wiped out the remaining Golems, actually putting them both at 45. She was about to claim that they were tied up when Midnight fell onto her. Spirit opened her mouth to make some wisecrack 'date' remark, but held her tongue when she realized that her friend truly was out cold. Clearly, this meant that she needed to do something, right?
Damn her frail body! She couldn't actually carry Midnight out if here, safely. So, they were going to be here overnight, it looked.
Gently, she laid Midnight down, and kneeled beside her. With her charcoal, she created a small sigil that crackled into flame. Then, she removed all of her pointy and hard things from her bag, placing it user Midnight's head, and to top it all off, she tossed her cloak over the mare as a makeshift blanket.
Sighing to herself, she stood and began to make we way around the room, trying to pop the lids off various coffins. She only got one open, only to reveal another mummy, though this one was devoid of jewelry. Chances were the others followed suit. Which meant Spirit had to get rather gross, now.
The only thing on the mummy inside the main coffin was the pendant. So, to get to the other fun stuff, the Witch had to unwrap the thing. And she did, revealing a rather well preserved corpse, smelling of embalming fluid, still. The actual Body was riddled with jewelry, too! With a set of silver earrings, to boot! Peeling them out of the casket, she took a better look at them. A familiar sun symbol. The same one tags plastered these ruins. The pupil of the eyes inside seemed to be forged of a jet gemstone, though. Hopefully Midnight would like them...
Spirit looked again to the fallen mare. Hopefully, Midnight was okay...

As time passed Midnight's over exertion of magic caused her mind to wander. She was remembering living back in the kingdom before the war. As she slept her magic was slowly replenishing as she continued to sleep ten minutes...twenty minutes passed as she went from happy dreams to nightmares that cause her to speak in her sleep. "Arid dont make me leave." she was shaking in her sleep from the nightmares
As she continued having nightmares she began to stand up in her sleep before waking up, her eyes were open however they were glazed over as she was not fully awake. Yelling at the top of her lungs as she stomped her hooves down hard on the floor "You wont get through me to get after Arid." she said before running towards the wall slamming her hooves against it, she kept hitting it with her hooves as they began to chip before she hit them hard as blood started to come from her hooves "I won't let you take ponies from me. I WONT let anypony take them from me."

Oh shit. Nightmares. Spirit was very familiar with those. Most of the time she didn't dream, but the times she did were the worst. Unknown faces behind torches. Streaks of lightning cracking through the sky. Sent out on her own, just a filly with nopony in the world to turn to. It seemed like whatever Midnight was going through was quite a bit worse, though. Especially when she heard that name again. Arid. That stallion really must have been important to her.
Nervously, she approached the half awake mare. When she saw the blood start to drip, though, she dropped all self preservation. In a single leap, she pounced Midnight, dragging them both to the ground, Spirit laying on the other mare's side. Clumsily, she wrapped her hooves around the mare and began whispering softly, "Wake up, Middie... It's all a dream. You're safe. Everypony is safe. It's alright...."

As she hit the wall more she began to growl out "I will die before you touch the ponies I love." she said before feeling herself get taken to the ground. Laying there she struggled trying to get away before swinging her hooves wildly least the ones that were free. Trying to use her magic nothing came out as she slammed her head against the ground "LET ME GO!" she yelled out before the voice seemed to snap her a bit into reality as she looked down her eyes glazed over there was a mare there. Blinking a bit she began to wake up before looking around lowering her head to the floor groaning a bit
She had a few tears in her eyes before she closed them starting to stammer out "Spirit? What happened?"

Spirit shook her head and got up from Midnight's side. Holding out a hoof, she pulled the mare up to her hooves and into a much more sincere hug, "I... don't know, Midnight. First, you're out cold, and then you're screaming about somepony taking others from you. Must have just been a nightmare..." she claimed, trailing off.
She pulled away from the hug just as quickly, and looked about the wreckage of the room. Altering numbers a bit, she stated, "But, if you were wondering, you got 46 of them. Just one more than me. So, as a prize, I guess you can have these." At that, she pulled the earrings she looted from her bag, offering them to the other mare, "I made a promise, and I don't go back on those."

Feeling herself lifted up she felt the hug and returned it as she shook some. "Nightmares..I must of dropped my mental shields." she began to watch as the other moved away. Seeming to go over the wreckage of the room before telling her she won. Seeing the ear rings she wiped her eyes a bit with her hooves chuckling some "They are beautiful." she went over to Spirit and wrapped her hooves around her hugging her close as she buried her face in her friend's neck "Would it be ok if we stayed here tonight? I haven't anywhere else to go yet and...I dont wanna be alone right now just held."
she was shaking a bit as she let a few tears go from her eyes and just held onto Spirit like she was a life line "I dont wanna be alone again."

Spirit was not good with sappy stuff. She was an adventurer dammit! She raided crypts and made things explode! And yet, here she was, actually giving a damn about another pony. Sighing, she placed her own hooves around Midnight once again, "Don't worry, hun," she said, "You won't be alone. You've got a Witch at your back. And we don't abandon those that are important to us."
Okay, so maybe Spirit had never met another witch, and maybe she was starting to make things up, but her words still held! She truly had already grown to care for Midnight. Maybe she was just longing for somepony to cling to, maybe it was because of this adventure of theirs, or maybe they just meshed well together. But, what was truly to be known was that Midnight was important to Spirit. And, as such, she slowly began to lead her back to the flickering flames, "Come on, we can stay here. It's not like there's anything else here that can hurt us, right?"

She held onto Spirit as she felt her embrace her she shook some and smiled as she looked at her "I think leaving the kingdom is taking its toll on me." she began to follow her back to the fire as they got down she nuzzled into Spirit close as she laid her head on her a bit "And I am glad to hear that. I dont abandon friends either in this life or there after I will always be with them." she said before closing her eyes a bit "The spirits are back and it's safe. They dont fear the place anymore." she began to think about how she was like this before.
Worried about sleeping alone she was fine with that. Nor did she care about having no one near her or a friend but, after the weeks turned to months and she had no idea the outcome of the kingdom she began to want that comfort again. To lay next to somepony even if it wasnt sexual and felt safe or at least not alone she began to open her eyes a bit looking at the fire she had to say it "If this is how all your first dates go..what about the second?"

No. Fuck. No. Emotions were bad. These were not feelings that Spirit was ever supposed to feel. She was a solitary creature. Witches always were. Never did you hear about a witch in a happy relationship. They were too busy stealing souls or something to do that. Fuck. And now, Midnight was laying her head on her shoulder. Maybe... This fluttering feeling in her stomach was reciprocated? Maybe Midnight felt the same?
Stop! Digest those butterflies! Midnight did not feel like that to you! She loved this Arid stallion. Even if she didn't know his fate, that was where her heart belonged, and Spirit wasn't going to stop that. So, what else could she do, other than enjoy this moment as she could? Slowly, she put an arm around Midnight, while the other fished around in her bag. A small pouch of dust came from it, and he tossed a hoofful the dancing flames. At the contact, the flames suddenly burned a brilliant emerald green rather than its basic orange.
Laying her chin on top of Midnight's head, she closed her eyes and sighed, "Simple. I chose the first date location. Second one is yours."
