The Ruins outside of town held many rumours. Most of which Spirit had taken upon herself to debunk. Much to her own boredom, there were no curses. None of the crumbling statues came to life as golems. Nor were they guarding anything, save for a few other crumbling building. With nothing inside. At least, nothing she could identify as important.
And so, Spirit found it a great place to set up as a home. One of the lesser crumbling builidings sufficed, though one of the walls looked nearly rebuilt. Instead of the bricks or whatever used to build the other buildings, this wall was crafted of a flat, grey stone, seemingly pulled from the ground itself. The doorway glowed with an ethereal blue light, though the source of it seemed unknown. Not much else would be known about the place until one stepped inside. But, chances were, it wasn't a very nice affair.
Regardless, Spirit wasn't even at home, right now. Rather, she was traversing the ruins in the way she knew best. On top of everything. The winding corridors and twisted 'streets' often found the unicorn lost. Adopting the roofs as a primary way of getting around really helped figure out the layout. And it was just loads more fun that walking on the street.
The only problem was sometimes, Spirit found herself in situations like she was currently in. On top of a building, approximately twenty feet off of solid stone. The pillars she had used as a highway to get up here crumbled under her hooves, pretty much stranding her up here until she figured something out.
All in all, she could sum up her situation in a single word, "Shit."

Unhooking her cart the navy blue pony sighed a bit. She didnt make much by way of bits in town, as she leaned against her cart a bit she sighed to herself "Stupid Arid telling me I couldn't stay. Swear next I see him before I kiss him gonna bust his nose." she stretched out a bit as she started to walk around the ruins she was now calling for now a place to rest. No bits for an inn, nor a person to stay with she traveled along the streets of the old ruins "These ruins hold such hidden wonders I bet...the runes are something I've not seen though." she used her unicorn magic to get her journal out and began to make a few notes about some of the ruins in it "Let me see..." she drew out a few runes in it as well her thoughts
Walking along she grumbled some "What stood here? The spirits come here but, was it a shrine? Maybe it was a place to worship a deity?" she stopped near some crumbled pillar "This place seems to fall apart more and more."

From her vantage point, Spirit could see quite a bit. From the various movements in the trees outside the ruins, to the pebbles still falling away from some places. However, the one that really stuck to her the most was when she caught the sight of somepony... copying down a few of her runes? Did they know what those were going to do?
Probably not. Glyphs were mostly a lost art. In her travels, Spirit had never seen anypony actually knowing how to use them other than herself. Sure, a few history professors or archaeologists knew what they were, but none of them knew the raw power they held.
Then again, the glyph that the pony was jotting wasn't a very... powerful one. Just a quick light rune, to lead Spirit home if it was late.
And now, the pony was directly underneath her. Spirit figured the best way to get their attention, though, wasn't just shouting down. Instead, the rune inside the journal began to glow with a bright blue light, as if reacting to something.
Hopefully, the pony would just look up to see the Witch flailing her limbs around.

Looking around the ruins she looked around "Come now spirits you need to tell me something. Why do you persist on being here?" she spoke to herself as she felt something. Magic? A different kind as her journal began to glow with a bright blue. Flipping it open one of the runes was brightly light up "Wait a second you got activated? Who activated you let alone knew I had it?" she began to look around the place. No pony around her and the spirits weren't warning her of danger.
Looking still she looked up along a few of the buildings "Somepony or something is watching me but, from where?" she saw nothing just the shadows till she finally backed up and looked atop the building she was under seeing somepony flailing their limbs around. She had to stifle a giggle at the sight yelling up to her "Excuse me. Are you in need of assistance? Or do you enjoy the view from up there bet you can see most of the ruins cant you?" she tilted her head a bit waiting on the other pony's answer

Spirit rolled her eyes, even though the pony on the ground couldn't see it. Sighing, she called out, cupping her hooves over her mouth to help it echo out, "Oh, I just /love/ it up here! Especially the 'no way down' aspect of it!" Spirit then layed down on the roof, her front legs and head leaning over the side. Clearly, she was bored, "Okay, look. Can you help me out? If you do, I'll give you a personal tour of this place!"
Chances were, that was not really a good incentive to help. But, she continued on, regardless, "Just... follow the glowing runes until you find a mostly intact place! Inside, there should be a black satchel. Could you bring it to me? I'll be, like, forever in your debt, or something!"
As she finished, the Witch closed her golden eyes, and various markings on the ground and walls began to light up in the same blue colour, in a sort of path like fashion, begging Midnight to follow them.

"Well if you love it up there I am sure you wont mind spending the night up there..Well unless it rains." she called back up at the other and smirked a bit. Seeing her lean over the edge she giggled a bit "Actually a tour sounds lovely this place was calling out to me anyways." as her ears heard the runes and to follow them to a black satchel she blinked looking up at her "Are you telling me you drew most of the runes around here? You are gonna have to tell me about that they are so well done." she called out as the blue glow beckoned her...starting to trot off she stopped and yelled back up at the other pony "By the way the name is Midnight Mind..or you may call me Sueño Nocturno." she followed the runes looking them over.
Speaking to herself she smirked "She did all of these so well. I can't see a single flaw in them and it must of took her hours to put them all up on the walls.." getting to the final place she looked around "Black satchel hmm now where could it be?" she moved a few things before she found it. Using her magic to lift it up she brought it back with her getting to the spot she was before "Ok I got your satchel."

The Witch's house was not hard to find. Rather large, glowing and with a mismatched wall. Inside, it was pretty simple. Another rune was on the ground, blackened stains around it. Light was emanating from one up on the roof, keeping everything visible in its ghostly blue lights, in the corner there was a pile of what looked like junk. Anypony that was magickally attuned, however, would be able to basically /feel/ the thrumming energy from it. Thankfully, it was known not to be touched if the whispers of power and black magick coming from it meant anything.
But, that was a story for a different time. Right now, Spirit was still on a roof, probably getting bored out of her mind. But, she heard the voice of the mare from before, and grinned, "Alright, Midnight! Pass it on up!"
When she got it, she began to sift through it immediately. It took a bit, but soon, she found what she wanted. A... slip of paper with a glyph on it?
Sadly, the next display wasn't fully visible to Midnight, because it was rather glorious. The paper faded away into dust, and a massive a what looked like a tendril of stone flowed out of the side of the building, almost looking like a massive slide from the top to the bottom of the building.
Soon, Spirit was upon said slide, rapidly going down the side of the building, her satchel whipping out beside her. But, clearly, she did not think it all through, as she reached the bottom with no slow in inertia.
As her hoof touched the solid ground, she was sent tumbling end over end down the street, finally skidding to a stop a ways down.

As she waited for the other to get down she heard some noise and watched as this pony came to a sudden...unpleasant stop near her as she chuckled some "Well that was sure an entrance to behold." she looked around to see how she got down "Oh my did you use something to make that?" she pointed at the slide and went over to it tapping it a few times "Solid...though." she looked at the mare and tilted her head "You are a unicorn yes? Why didn't you...oh I dont know. Teleport to a lower building then to the ground? I mean you were high up I am sure it was just the high altitude that made you make that judgement call."
She giggled a bit before bowing her head a bit "A proper introduction though my name is Midnight Mind or Sueño Nocturno. A pleasure I am sure cause I must say it is great to meet a mare who does these runes so flawlessly. I am in awe of them."

Standing up, Spirit dusted off her body, and checked over herself really quickly. Nothing broken or sprained, but she'd have a pretty nice bruise or two, later. At least it was something to poke at when she got bored. But, the thought of touching her bruises was chased away when Midnight began to speak.
As she did so, Spirit fell into a rather clumsy bow, herself, before beginning her own introductions, "I am Spirit Weaver. And to answer your questions, I used a spell seal to make that thing. And... no, I could not teleport around. This thing," she said, tapping her horn, "is just for show. I can use runes and glyphs so long as I tap into the Ley Lines of the world. Ley Lines are just... streams of magick circling the globe."
She shrugged, as if this information dump was nothing of the sort, "I guess I just got good at making sigils after a few years or so. It's nothing to be in awe of."
Then, she spun on a hoof, looking out down the street, "So, I would recommend we get on the roofs, again. It's much easier to get around and see things. Let's just... not get stuck, though."

"I see your horn isnt really for magic just show. Well might as well just have a glued on horn but, yes the ley lines of the world I am very aware of. Still it isn't often I meet a mare or anypony that can do glyphs and runes like you." seeing the other do a clumsy bow she giggled "Though if I must say if my father were around still and saw these runes he would be in awe as well my mother. My sister would be asking you all about them." she began to smile tilting her head to the side a bit "Sorry if I seem a bit...of a chatter box."
Looking up at the roofs she rubbed at the back of her head a bit "Um...well actually I rather stay grounded if that is alright with you. Better then being stuck up on a roof again you know?" she didn't want to flat out say it but, yes heights scared her and going from roof top to roof top wouldn't be wise

"I don't mind that one bit," she said, happily, before beginning to lead Midnight down the streets. Unsurprisingly, there was nothing of interest anywhere. Statues missing limbs, buildings falling apart, etc. Basic ruin stuff, "I'm sorry to say that there isn't really too much going on in these ruins that I've found, though. A few idols, but they don't seem enchanted, or anything."
Well... there was one thing that she found, but she didn't quite want to mention it just yet. Mostly because it was quite a ways away, as of yet, "And if you'd rather stay here, I say let's do that. I guess it helps with the immersion process, and all, doesn't it?"
"And after this tour, I'd be glad to explain some of the Glyphs I use. I mean, honestly, you're the first pony I've met that actually knew what Ley Lines were."

Walking with Spirit through the ruins she used her journal to make notes of things she saw, a few idols as she watched things around them "Oh the immersion is wonderful is there anything else you know of around here? This place is great and I wonder why I have been seeing spirits being drawn here." she placed her journal away and smirked "Well when you grow up in Neigh Orleans and with my father and sister you learn a lot of things."
"Well I would love to know about your knowledge of the glyphs." hearing about being the only pony that knew what Ley lines were she chuckled a bit more "Well trust me I get weird looks for my tarot readings, people believe it's all dark magic or a hoax. Having to explain magic isn't good nor evil but, just a tool and whoever uses it dictates whether it be good or not gets tiresome."

Spirit shrugged. Might as well just out and say what she saw, earlier. Maybe she could even find the place again, "Well, there was a place out a ways away. It's... disconnected from the main area over here, but it looked almost like a temple. There was a shrine and all. But... in the back, there were stone boxes. I think they were coffins. I really, really wanted to open one, but they were damn heavy," she claimed, "I think the strangest thing, though, is that they weren't even shaped like ponies. Looked almost like bipedal dragons. Err.. at least the idols and stuff did."
"And I am afraid that we may need to disagree on that last part," Spirit said again, slowing down a bit, and starting to take in the sights a bit more (she was actually lost, but Midnight didn't need to know that) "I mean, I've seen Black Magick. Necromancy and Blood Rites. I don't think I could ever see those put to good use."

She stopped hearing bi-pedal blinking a bit "They walked on...two legs?" she said before starting to think about it. They could go there and see this or be the end of the tour. "You know what let's go I am sure the two of us could lift it if not I got my magic to help. Plus it would really be interesting to see what was put inside a shrine it must of been very respected or something." tilting her head at Spirit about the necromancy and blood rites
"Well it all depends, it is good to hear the different stuff though for me the only stuff I've seen close to necromancing was a voodoo pony from Neigh Orleans. Blood rites I have only heard stories upon them...though with necormancy I would imagine it could be put to good use by the right pony. Then again I try to see a good side in it all." she smiled a bit at Spirit moving a bit closer to her "How about this we talk about something else. How about I tell you my talent if you tell me how you activate your glyphs your talent is so unique. Perhaps we can swap stories or anything."

Spirit nodded at Midnight's idea. Maybe she could finagle her way out there. If memory served, she had to go... this way! She shifted their path, taking a dilapidated side street, before speaking of her times with those wonderfuly black magicks, "I don't think that Necromancy could be good. I've seen tortured souls torn from rest and held in thrall by mad ponies seeking power. And I guess Blood Rites /could/ be used well. But... I've personally never seen anypony using their own blood for them."
She shrugged, happy to get off the subject, "And hey, I'm always up for a couple story swaps! I've got dozens in my repetoire to share! Either way, you said you were a tarot reader, correct? That's actually something I've been wanting to look into. It seems rather bizarre to me. But... I guess I shouldnt' be talking about strange, should I?" she added with a giggle
